Citizens of Schengen Area do not need a visa nor a permit to study in the Czech Republic. They only need a valid passport or another equivalent ID.

All Exchange students are guaranteed to obtain university accommodation if they apply within the deadline. General information can be found in the Housing section of our website.

If interested in University Accommodation, refer to the Dormitories Website for all information. Pay attention to the Time Schedule. If in doubts, contact the Dormitories Management (scroll down for contact information).

Procceed with other steps (deposit payment, signing the contract) as described on the dormitories website.

Get familiar with the semester dates in our Academic Calendar. All students are required to attend the Orientation Week organized for all incoming students one week before the semester starts.

Make your arrangements based on the information available.

Note: It is a student’s responsibility to register for their respective exam dates via InSIS from dates listed by their professors / departments. Exams generally take place during the Exam period. If a student wishes to finish all their exams during the last week of classes, it is upon agreement with the respective course supervisor. The supervisors generally enable students to fulfill all their academic duties before the teaching period ends.

You are invited to browse through our course offer for Exchange students, from which you can choose any combination of courses across all VSE faculties.

As students are asked to enroll in their courses themselves using InSIS, you can do the course pre-registration as soon as the system allows it. Afterwards, the automated registration takes place where students are not directly involved.

Do not forget about enrollment, which is the last stage of course registration that is based on time competition, so first come, first served! See the time schedule of the registration in the Academic Calendar – time and date changes every semester.

You can fill in the Learning Agreement if your university requires you to do so.

Citizens of EU countries, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, are entitled to the provision of necessary and urgent health care free of charge. It is only necessary that they have a certified E 128 form from their home country or a European Health Insurance Card, which replaces the paper forms needed. It is, however, highly recommended to enter into a contract with one of the commercial insurance companies.

Starting from August 2, 2021, non-EU citizens staying in the Czech Republic longer than 90 days must contract comprehensive health insurance.
