Fall Semester 2018

Nomination deadline: May 1, 2018 (April 15 for non-EU students)

Application deadline: May 30, 2018 (May 15 for non-EU students)

Pre-registration of Courses: June 11 – August 23, 2018

Orientation week: September 07 – 14, 2018

Classes: September 17 – December 14, 2018

Public and other holidays:

  • September 28 – Day of the Czech statehood
  • October 28 – Foundation of the Independent Czechoslovak State
  • November 17 – Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day
  • December 24 – Christmas Eve
  • December 25 – Christmas Day
  • January 1 – Restoration Day of the Independent Czech State

Exam period: December 17 – 21, 2018; December 27 – 28, 2018; January 2 – February 1, 2019 *

*all exchange students will be given a chance to finish their exams of regular courses during the last week of classes, i.e. December 10 – 14, 2018.

However, not all the grades will be recorded in the system by then, so should the student receive 50 – 59 points as the total for a course, s/he will be given an opportunity to retake a final exam for this course during the exam period.  Consequently, if the students do not retake the final exam, s/he will be given a failing grade for the course. Exchange students are more than welcome to take exams also during the exam period upon previous agreement with the lecturer.

When it comes to the administrative part of the Exchange, the real date of the last exam (oral or written) will appear on the Confirmation of study period. Students coming in the framework of Erasmus+ programme should make sure that their total number of days at VSE exceeds 90 days, which is the required minimum of the programme.
